National Museum of Scotland

The National Museum of Scotland has a collection of nearly 500 objects from Fiji from several different sources. Notable are the objects from the Scottish members of the first colonial administration in Fiji in the 1870s. A large number of Scots were involved in Fiji’s pre-colonial and colonial history; the collections held in Edinburgh are derived from this involvement. Material in the collection also includes objects collected by Constance Gordon Cumming when she lived in Fiji in the 1870s.
